Lydia and Seth’s wedding at Merchant Hall overflowed with love at every moment throughout the day. The couple, who share a deep Christian faith and a desire to help others, were ready to make forever happen on a sunny, gorgeous day in Charleston in early 2019.
“These two are perfect for each other!” gushes Christi, the couple’s photographer.
They made Merchants Hall their home for the day, choosing to use the venue for both their ceremony and reception. After getting picture perfect in their wedding day attire, Lydia surprised Seth with a heartwarming first look.
The couple then made several stops around downtown Charleston to capture their wedding day portraits before the ceremony started.
A Servant’s Heart
The couple’s faith has been an integral part of their entire relationship. The two made their dating relationship official on the beach at Sullivan’s Island, so it was only appropriate for the two to return there after church one day for Seth to pop the question!
“Seth loves Lydia deeply, he’s a true servant leader, and he’s absolutely one of the nicest people,” says photographer Christi.
Lydia uses her faith to help others, and once interned for 9 months in a domestic violence shelter. This experience led her to purchase her wedding gown from Church Street Bridal in Lynchburg, Virginia.
“"Proceeds from all the gowns at Church Street Bridal go to helping women and children who are victims of domestic violence and abuse," states Lydia.
Lydia has also been called to volunteer in Kenya with an orphanage there, and it was this giving spirit that brought her and Seth together!
