Your wedding and your first home are two of the biggest expenditures you'll make in your lifetime. Many couples feel that they have to pick one or the other because of cost.
But what if you could have both?
That's the inspiration behind this at home wedding styled shoot: instead of choosing between a wedding and a first home, Janeen from LUVJOY Studios imagined an intimate elopement that takes place at the couple's new home. Not only would you get to show off your beautiful new abode, but you'd get to share your day with those who matter the most.
With a little bit of planning, you can have it all! Get inspired to plan your own at home wedding with this casual yet elegant styled shoot.
"I loved the intimacy [the house] provided: the innocence and simplicity of new love. It doesn't always have to be grandiose. Throughout the shoot, we played very soft love songs to set the tone. There were lots of small smirks, little giggles and sweet moments.
"The venue was actually at a house. The shoot was inspired by the story of my husband and I. Instead of having a large expensive wedding (being newly graduating college students) we purchased a house first. At our 10 year anniversary, we will celebrate with a ceremony that will include our little girls, family and friends.
"This entire shoot helped me remember that simplicity is key. After 6 years of marriage things can get hectic, but when we slow down and take time to "smell the flowers" or hug a little longer, it's those things that truly matter."
"[The biggest surprise was] the entire team's fluidity. We had a makeup artist not show, yet the event planner Brittany just navigated smoothly into that role as well. The model chemistry was great, and it even rained a little, but everything turned out magically."
"As a natural photographer shooting inside gets me outside of my comfort zone, However, the lighting was still great, and the models worked well together."
"My favorite element of the shoot was truly the simplicity and the natural essence. A lot of times on a big day, we get so focused on inspiration from others that we follow.
"But in this shoot, I wanted to keep it as natural and subtle as possible. The focus was on accentuating what you already possess instead of working to be something different than who you already are.
"I truly encourage all brides and grooms to remember their true and special essence on their wedding day. It is to be celebrated and honored."
